Custom Made Dress Shirts @ Joe Button :  →
I just came across this site for custom shirting.  Although I can’t speak on their quality, I can say that the website’s interface is incredibly easy to use and there are enough option to keep you busy.  Anyone out there with any experience?  Oh, and I’m not gonna lie, I’m definitely not feeling the name.  But hey, if they make a good shirt….

Birth of the Cool →
Born on this day in 1924 with more sprezzatura than any man on Earth before or since: the great Marcello Mastroianni. His role as a tabloid columnist in 1960’s La Dolce Vita (above) is his best known, but far from only notable, film. He starred in a number of other Fellini classics and made many movies with the world’s most beautiful actresses, including 14 films with Sophia Loren...

The Last Words Of 25 Famous Dead Writers →
I found this today thanks to the good folks at @GiltMAN.  Click the pic of Ernest above or the title to see the other 24 writers and their sometimes dark, sometimes witty, but always interesting last words.

Changed My Layout
So although I really liked the clean simple minimalist theme I had going on before, a quick search revealed to me that many of my friends and contemporaries were using the same theme.  We can’t have that, can we?  If anything, at least I strive to be original.

"Oakham" Double Monk from Bespoke-England →
I’m still not 100% sure how I feel about the whole double monk trend.  Although I do find them elegant, I’m not sure if they are for me.  I tend to like them in most of the pics I see on the internet, but as more of and Alden and American shoe guy in general, they may be a little too dainty for my particular taste.  Whether I’ll wear them or not, I find this particular pair...

(via Meet The Men Of Menswear With Tim Blanks : style file: daily fashion, party, and model news) Personally, I don’t love all the styles in here, but its nice to hear and see some different perspectives from across the pond.  And considering London Fashion Week is going down right now this seemed time appropriate.

The Death of British Eyewear Manufacturing
I have to admit, I didn’t really know anything about this before reading this post.  I mean, I knew Opera Opera made amazing eyewear, but before this, I knew nothing about the history, which if you know me you’d agree is quite unusual. dieworkwear: In the past thirty years, Britain has slowly lost its eyewear industry, and the reasons why link back to a number of political economy...

Quoted @NorthernGRADE →
And this, from Noah Zagor, is perhaps the best summation of why any of this matters: “I had an uncle who was a geology professor at Oxford University,” Noah says. “I remember visiting him, and he would point to the motto emblazoned on the gates: ‘Manners Makyth Man.’” Definitely read the whole post over at The Midwestyle .  Seth did a great job of capturing...
